If I’ve learned anything as the founder of this brand, it’s that people are at the heart of everything I do. My business isn’t just about creating beautiful pieces; it’s fundamentally about the relationships that form along the way. Every day, I communicate with customers, collaborate closely with my small team, and work with talented artisans who bring my designs to life. And believe me—each of these interactions shapes my perspective on business and life more than I ever imagined.
Some days are smooth and fulfilling, while others test my patience. But through it all, I’ve realised one important truth: the way I approach the people I meet has a profound impact on my work and my life.
Working in a small team has its own dynamics. There are no layers of managers or endless delegations—every decision, every success, and every mistake is shared directly. This setup demands honesty, patience, and a bit of humour.
Each member of my team brings something unique to the table. One is meticulous and detail-oriented, ensuring nothing gets overlooked. Another brims with energy and ideas, pushing our creative boundaries. But because we’re such a small group, the balance can be delicate. When deadlines loom or unexpected challenges arise, we all feel it.
I’ve learned that the secret to navigating these moments lies in clear communication and mutual respect. It’s important to recognise each team member’s strengths and weaknesses, support one another where needed, and never lose sight of why we’re doing this in the first place.
One of the most rewarding parts of my work is collaborating with the artisans who create our jewellery. They’re not just skilled professionals—they’re the soul behind our unique pieces. Working with them isn’t just about handing over a design and waiting for the finished product. It’s a shared process of exchanging ideas, finding solutions, and overcoming challenges together.
Sometimes things don’t go as planned. A design might not translate to metal the way I envisioned, or delays might disrupt the entire schedule. But these moments teach me patience and trust. When we overcome challenges as a team, the resulting jewellery carries even greater meaning.
And then there are the customers. Every interaction, whether it’s a heartfelt message or a question about an order, reminds me why I started this brand. Some customers are a joy to work with—enthusiastic, kind, and understanding. They make me realise, even after a long day, that this work matters. Customers are the ones who truly shape the brand.
Not every interaction is easy, though. Sometimes expectations don’t align, or communication falters on both sides. These moments are challenging but also teach me a lot about patience and the importance of setting clear expectations. How I handle these situations often defines how customers perceive not just the brand, but me as its founder.
If there’s one thing all these interactions have taught me, it’s that people are complex—and I’m no exception. Some days, I rise to challenges with grace and optimism. Other days, I fall short of my own expectations. But every experience, whether good or bad, teaches me something new.
Running this brand has shown me that who you are matters—how you treat others, how you manage stress, and how you celebrate successes. It’s a constant balancing act between kindness and firmness, empathy and decisiveness, creativity and practicality.
At the end of each day, I ask myself: Who do I want to be right now? I ask this when communicating with my team, collaborating with artisans, or responding to customers.
