Pearls never go out of style. Whether you wear them daily or only on special occasions, they deserve the right care to keep their shine and elegance.
Put them on last
Always wear your pearls after applying makeup, perfume or hairspray. The chemicals in cosmetics can damage their natural lustre.
Store them properly
Keep your pearls flat in a soft pouch or cloth. Avoid storing them with other jewellery – they can scratch easily.
Wear them regularly, but wisely
Pearls benefit from contact with skin – natural oils help keep them hydrated and prevent them from becoming brittle.
However, frequent wear during workouts, in hot weather or when sweating can lead to a build-up of sweat, oils and dust on the surface. Over time, this can cause the pearls to turn slightly yellow.
Similarly, pearls can take on a darker tone when worn directly on dark clothing – for example, black tops or sweaters.
Clean them gently
We recommend wiping your pearls with a soft, dry cloth after each wear.
If they’ve lost their shine or slightly changed colour, gently wash them with lukewarm water and a drop of mild soap. Never use harsh cleaning agents or abrasive sponges. After rinsing, dry them carefully with a soft cloth.
Let them dry fully
Never store pearls while damp – it can damage their surface and dull their shine.
Pearls are beautiful but delicate. With just a little care, they’ll stay with you forever.
